Hi, I'm Anil. I recently graduated with Master of Science degree from Colorado State University in Electrical Engineering focusing on Robotics and Controls. Ever since I could get my hands on a computer, I have been building and coding robots to automate simple things at my home. During my undergraduate degree at Visvesvaraya Technological University I realized that the traditional ECE courses were not flexible enough to help me tackle challenging engineering problems in automation. I realized that I was captivated by the multi-disciplinary and practical application involved in Robotics. Soon, I started undertaking extra-curricular projects involving quadcopters, bipeds, 3-DOF grippers, exoskeletons etc., to nurture my interest. Janine Benyus's book on Biomimicry fuelled my quest for innovation inspired by nature. I started seeking sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature’s time-tested patterns and strategies. Swarm Robotics and Swarm Intelligence had my undivided attention. I soon found myself involved in solving large scale problems such as shortage of labour in agriculture using my knowledge in coordination of multiple robots as a system and its interactions with the environment. This helped me develop a strong interest in controls, mapping, navigation and perception. Since almost every aspect of robotics is so fascinating, I find myself on the path to becoming jack of many trades and learning rapidly in order to contribute to the world of robotics.
I play soccer during most of my free time. Not to mention, a diehard Manchester United Football Club fan. If I am not on the grass, you can find me glued to the screen watching MUFC Play.
Photography is a new-found hobby (Yes it involves drones !). Thanks to breathtaking views every time I step outside in Colorado. Follow me on Instagram.
Whenever weather permits, hiking 14,000 feet mountains and mountain bike trail blazing provides my occasional dose of adrenaline and adventure.
I spend all my money on airplane tickets, Airbnb’s, fuel, and car rentals. I believe the world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
The gaming addiction started when I got my hands on a Game Boy. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a cure yet. I have cycled through NFS, COD, CS, DOTA, LOL, COC, FIFA, AOE, POP, GOW, BLUR, AC ... the list goes on.
On occasion when I want to get away from screens and technology. I either pickup a paintbrush or a pencil and let my imagination take me places.
I am amateur on the acoustic guitar, but a pro on Virtual DJ. You can never find me without my headphones off.
Occasionally I volunteer to help protect flora and fauna, also spread awareness towards sustainable living around my area of residence.
